Visionary Develops BH Management Services, Inc. Tablet Website
Previous newsletters discussed benefits of building a mobile website and the differences between mobile websites and mobile apps. One of our clients, BH Management Services, Inc., recently took the next step to combine the functionality of a mobile website with the visual appeal of an app. BH Management's website content is managed and updated through Visionary's Site OnCall Content Management System. This content is then integrated with the BH Management mobile website and now their tablet website.
BH Management wanted a solution for their leasing agents that not only looked and felt like an app but utilized the same framework and content database as their two other existing websites. There are many advantages to using the same content database: the ability to direct database content from one central location to specific pages on the tablet website to maintain consistent content among all 3 websites, the ability to save a sizable amount of money by reusing the same database and structure, and the flexibility of creating tablet-specific CSS to give users a more app-like experience on a broad range of tablet devices and screen sizes.
BH Management Director Kelly Weber stated, "In lieu of building an app for a leasing tool, we knew that we wanted a browser-based solution because it would offer us greater flexibility at a lower price. Our site features the icons at touch-screen interaction that people have come to expect on tablets, but we can maintain it all through a central database that also powers our web and mobile sites.
