Meet Ryan Young
The Contract Development team is breaking the umm... glass ceiling? Here at Visionary all our Project Leads just so happen to be women, but we are happy to announce we're mixing it up with Visionary's first-ever male Project Lead. We're pleased to welcome Ryan Young who hails from right here in Des Moines, Iowa. We are excited about the diverse skillset Ryan brings to our team, including his knack for responsive design and CSS. Keep reading to learn a little bit more about our newest employee.
Q: What's your favorite thing about Visionary so far?
A: My favorite thing about Visionary thus far is how helpful my coworkers have been in onboarding me and sharing their knowledge about not just the company, but the different tricks they use to be more efficient. I also really enjoy the culture, which seems to really nurture creativity and ideation while having a lot of fun in the process.
Q: What are some of your hobbies or activies outside of work?
A: Outside of work, I am involved with Young Professionals Connection and currently serve as the marketing co-chair this year. I like to work on my own design projects and anything friends may ask me to do for them. My wife and I also have a dog, Cali, whom we enjoy playing with. As a University of Iowa alumni, I love watching Hawkeye football and basketball games.
Q: Anything else we should know?
A: I am a big baseball and college football fan. Unfortunate Chicago Cubs fan. Bigger design geek, though. I love sites like clientsfromhell.com and nerdy, designer-y things. I used to be into photography, but haven’t shot anything in a very long time. I majored in Journalism and Studio Art. I haven’t broken a bone in my life, and have a tendency to over-extend the necessary length of my stories I tell by including superfluous information.
