Get to Know: Production Specialist Lexie Hills
What do you call a recent Iowa State grad with an affinity for wristwatches and a knack for baking decorative cupcakes?
At Visionary, we just call her Lexie, our newest production support specialist who just might be in the running for the title of most fun-loving character in our office.
Here’s more about the latest member of the Visionary family, Lexie:
Start off by telling everyone a little about yourself:
I was raised, not born in Des Moines, Iowa, and I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Graphic Design in May of 2014.
What is your web background?
I began learning basic HTML and CSS as a sophomore in college; then I later took a web development class my junior year. I have dabbled in jquery, javascript and some responsive web code but would love to learn more.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Reading, watching football and hockey (Green Bay Packers and Chicago Blackhawks are my teams), binge watching numerous TV shows on Netflix (currently watching The Office start to finish), spending time with my family, friends and boyfriend, Jacob, and playing with my dogs, Roly and Jaeger.
Where is your favorite place to eat in Des Moines?
Being a food fanatic, it’s difficult for me to name just one restaurant as my favorite. Top five list: Monterrey, Cool Basil, Big Tomato, Great China, and Dunkin Donuts (mmmmm, blueberry cake…)
Best book or blog you've read lately?
Can’t remember the last book I have finished. I am in-between Enders Game and Sherlock Holmes at the moment, while dabbling in The Sirens of Titan.
What is one thing you could not live a day without?
Hugging and petting my dogs and laughing.
What are you loving at the moment?
Currently loving life in general at the moment, I had a rough couple of months after graduation and things are really going my way right now. Got a great new job here at Visionary, which helps put my goals of my own apartment and getting a dog into motion, and I am in a new relationship that makes me very happy. I love life at the moment.
Anything else we should know?
Awkward dancer but I do it all the time. I quote movies and TV shows constantly, and I bake decorative cupcakes.
