Sarah, a proud Des Moines native, grew up near Roosevelt High School where she attended school. Upon graduation, she made the 38-mile trek up to Ames for college at Iowa State University. There, she obtained a B.S. in Business Management with an emphasis in Psychology.
Sarah accepted a job right after graduation as an intern for Meredith Corporation in downtown Des Moines. There she quickly transitioned to a full-time employee as a Content Producer for their Fitness magazine site which stemmed into many other projects under a variety of brands such as Better Homes and Gardens. Eventually, Sarah became the Team Lead for the Content Production team where she led their efforts on organizing site redesigns, content reorganization projects, content management system transitions and much more. At a point when she was ready for a new challenge, Visionary’s President, David Safris, reached out to her through LinkedIn. Soon after, she began working at Visionary.
As a Project Manager, Sarah makes a significant impact with her passionate dedication to customer service. She loves helping clients come up with custom solutions for their websites that help solve a problem to make her client’s lives easier. Brainstorming and helping implement admin tools that are straightforward and even enjoyable to use is one of her favorite things about her roll at Visionary. And, she makes great use of her Type-A personality with her impeccable organization skills!
When she isn’t doing the daily grind at Visionary, Sarah keeps busy sustaining her two kids, Brooks (4) and Stella (1) along with the family dogs, Bama, named after the character Alabama Whitman from the movie True Romance, and Janney Roux, whose middle name was inspired by her chef husband. She loves to cook, bake and enjoys researching ideas around homesteading, which inspired her to get four laying chickens who can be seen frequently wandering around the backyard of their home in the Southwestern Hills neighborhood of Des Moines.
