Start by telling everyone about yourself.

My name is Lucas Reiman and I am a native of West Des Moines. I graduated from Drake University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Business focusing on marketing and management.

What is your professional background?

Prior to Visionary I had several internships in Des Moines and New York City. My experiences ranged from social media marketing, fundraising, and garment production.

After graduating from Drake, I worked at the Des Moines Arts Festival as a Marketing Project Coordinator.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love to make my own custom clothing for myself and friends. I recently just finished up a jacket that I gave to a friend as a gift made from leftover couch fabric. I also love looking at contemporary and modern art, watching movies and going out to get ramen and sake.

What have you enjoyed about Visionary so far?

Everyone here has been so welcoming and open to me. I have never felt excluded or felt like my questions or ideas are too simple/stupid as someone who is new to the industry.

Where is your favorite place to eat in Des Moines?

Lucca because they have the best scallop pasta in the whole world. They also have the best lunch special for Italian food in all of Iowa. I love going there with friends or even by myself for a quick bite on the weekends.

What is your favorite season and why?

Fall because of the temperature, leaves changing and my birthday.

Best book or blog you’ve read lately?

Dear Theo, a collection of letters that Vicent VanGogh wrote to his brother Theo. Very insightful view into the mind of a misunderstood human and how stigmatized mental illness was and continues to be.

What is one thing you could not live a day without?

My cat Bella because she is like my shadow and follows me around everywhere.

What are your words to live by?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why we call it the present.

What are you loving at the moment?

I just recently found a Balenciaga jacket on super sale that I have been wanting for a while. I've worn it every day for over a week.
